Outdoor product company Sawyer thought of every eventuality when it comes to insect repellants. The company makes both clothing and topical insect repellants, and they work extremely well against a variety of annoying bugs. What’s more, they protect against the diseases these bugs spread, like Zika.
The products work by actually killing bugs like ticks, mosquitoes, chiggers, mites and an impressive 55 other kinds of bugs. For some of its products, Sawyer uses a synthetic Permethrin that doesn’t break down in sunlight like the naturally occurring version does. Instead, this spray lasts six weeks or six washings on clothing and other fabrics, like tents, tarps, shelters and more.
All of Sawyer’s insect-repellant products are odorless, so unlike your average grocery store spray, you won’t have to worry about the scent.
Sawyer also makes a gear-safe Picaridin spray meant for topical use; it achieves the same result as the Permethrin and doesn’t harm your gear in the process. The topical sprays and lotions can last up to 14 hours. It’s also safe on young children and pregnant women, so there’s no fear in putting harmful chemicals on your body. And finally, there’s a DEET-based spray too.
Sawyer offers several types of insect repellant, so it’s easy to find the perfect solution for your skin and gear.
