A new hospitality brand hopes to appeal to millennial and Gen Z travelers. Selina provides not just a place to stay, but also a remote working environment and a range of locally inspired experiences in more than 145 destinations worldwide. With a bevy of unique accommodation options and a focus on live music, authentic food offerings and wellness programming, Selina is designed with the digital nomad and experiential traveler in mind.
Now, the brand brings its unique style to Washington, D.C., with Selina Union Market, opened last month. The modern industrial-inspired hotel sits within a former seed factory and later, antiques shop. Throughout the property, guests will spot an expansive courtyard with a four-story mural and a range of other artwork from local artists.
The hotel offers more than 100 guestrooms, ranging from suites to shared spaces to micro-rooms. Public spaces include an open-floor co-working space, private meeting rooms, an all-day restaurant, rentable artist studios, a cinema, common kitchen, wellness studio and rooftop bar. With its focus on local experiences and live entertainment, the property hosts a variety of events this summer, from pop-up food and beverage shops to wellness classes, comedy shows to rooftop parties.
