We arrived to Fa’a’ā International Airport early and made use of the Air Tahiti Nui lounge prior to our overnight flight. After snacking on some cheese and crackers and a few beverages, we made our way to the gate.
Priority boarding was swift and we were seated in no time. As I settled into my seat, flight attendants came through the cabin with beverages and magazines. I opted for a glass of Champagne and passed on the reading material. At all seats in the Poerava Business cabin, Air Tahiti Nui provides a pillow — complete with palm leaf pattern — and the most comfortable airline blanket I’ve experienced. I made myself comfortable while browsing the entertainment selections. Several new and older movie options were available. I eventually decided on Ex Machina.
A light meal of salad with chicken, foie gras and eggplant was offered shortly after takeoff. I also enjoyed a roll, cheese, fruit and a glass of Chardonnay. Once I was finished with my meal and the movie, I reclined my seat the full 160 degrees and utilized the eye mask in the amenity kit. I slept through most of the flight, waking just in time for the breakfast meal service. I started with a glass of tea and opted for the salmon omelet instead of the pineapple crepes. Flight attendants passed through the cabin with a selection of French pastries; I enjoyed coconut bread and a chocolate croissant. While enjoying breakfast I turned on Inception, which I watched until we landed in Los Angeles.
Air Tahiti Nui is the top choice for travel to French Polynesia and beyond.
