Airbnb to Open Apartment Building in Florida

Have you ever dreamed about renting a fabulous apartment you can sublet for a pretty penny? As alternative forms of passive income continue to appeal to millennials and other professionals who seek multiple ways to earn a living, Airbnb decided to capitalize on this trend by opening a building full of apartments that can be rented out part-time by real estate-savvy renters.

Located in Florida just outside of Kissimmee, Nido by Airbnb is slated to open in 2018 and will feature 300 units available for short-term leases. One stipulation that all tenants must agree to is they must rent out their units for up to 180 days each year. These units are ideal for remote workers, traveling professionals or those who, for one reason or another, can’t seem to commit to a permanent living situation.

Each unit will be equipped with fully functional appliances and amenities, and guests in the units will be privy to hotel-like services such as keyless entry, daily housekeeping and a “master host,” or an on-site representative who will assist guests with anything they may need in their temporary home. Tenants and guests also will be able to download a mobile app they can use to monitor their booking(s), request services and communicate directly with Airbnb employees.

Tenants of each unit will receive 72 percent of each booking, with Airbnb receiving 3 percent and the property developer getting the remaining 25 percent.
