As the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport works hard to make your travel experience as quick and painless as possible. The airport has the distinction of serving the highest number of passengers in a single year, a record held since 1998. Hartsfield-Jackson also had the most flights per year from 2005 to 2013, as well as last year in 2015. Despite the increasing traffic, the airport has managed to run even more smoothly than ever before thanks to a series of innovations that range from smart security lanes to a brand new iFlyATL app.

For travelers departing from Atlanta, ATL is conveniently located in the heart of the metropolitan area, allowing a traffic-free train ride to the airport. Whether you’re connecting directly to the domestic terminal or heading to international gates, navigating ATL’s 6.8 million square feet of space is easy with updated overhead signage and friendly service representatives. Smart security lanes and automated bins make great headway in reducing congestion, speeding the number of passengers getting through in an hour by 66 percent.

If all of this sounds impressive, you’ll be pleased to know Hartsfield-Jackson just launched a $6 billion improvement program for its domestic terminal, parking facilities and new additions like a hotel and mixed-use development. Learn more about the airport and its future offerings at atlanta-airport.com.
