Speakeasy culture is in full swing in Southern California with Prohibition Era-style bars and clubs popping up everywhere. These bars offer tantalizing drinks with catchy names like Tootsee Roll and Lady in Red, delicious bites to eat and an intriguing glimpse into an era long gone. Beach Boulevard Club, the latest addition to the family, can be found in Southern California’s Buena Park, located in the heart of Orange County.
Guests are treated to a live musical performance from dueling pianists while bartenders serve craft cocktails in a space decked out to resemble a 1920s speakeasy. While the atmosphere screams Prohibition, there is no secret to getting in, as long as you pay the cover fee and stick to a two-drink minimum. While the décor and staff uniforms are true to the era, music spans all genres and includes modern tunes to encourage audience participation and sing-alongs to your favorite songs.
Beach Boulevard Club, a strictly 21-and-over venue, is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with doors opening 60 minutes before showtime so you can enjoy the bar and grab a bite to eat. Appetizers for sharing are served along with a limited dinner menu, and show sets run for about three hours each night. Covers start at $10 on Thursday and go up to $15 for Friday and Saturday.
