Luxembourg is one of the smallest countries in all of Europe but there are still plenty of exciting places to visit there. If you find yourself nearby, there’s no excuse for not popping in for a visit, and here are the cities you need to see.
Grund
It doesn’t get much more picturesque than Grund. Many of the buildings are built right into the stone walls of the surrounding gorge, making for some unique architectural feats. Ancient fortifications, gardens and vineyards run amok in this adorable town.
Clervaux
Clervaux is about as close to a fairytale city as it gets. Snow-white castles sit amongst a lush, hilly backdrop to provide extraordinary views for tourists and locals alike. It’s also a pretty famous site from World War II and home to the Battle of the Bulge Museum, a must for war aficionados everywhere.
Vianden
Vianden is a treasure trove of Gothic architecture, with medieval buildings and walkways winding through the streets. If you travel here during the fall the colors on the surrounding foliage provide one of the most awe-inspiring pictures you’ll ever lay eyes on. Don’t forget to check out the looming castle seen from almost every corner of the town.
Luxembourg City
Luxembourg’s crown jewel of cities is obviously its capital and a great place to get to know the locals and experience the best the country has to offer. There’s no shortage of places to visit, from museums to gardens and plenty of ancient architectural feats. It’s also a great starting point for exploring the country as a whole.
