Tips / Destination

Paris is a foodie heaven and one of the main staples of every Parisian’s diet is the delectable and buttery croissant. These simple, yet elegant, pastries are practically required with every breakfast ,yet no bakery seems to make them the same. Here are some of the best places to try a croissant in the city.

Boulangeri Lemarie

Lemaire won’t ever make any lists of best places to eat in Paris, there’s nothing particularly fancy about it, but the owner has found the golden touch when it comes to croissant making. Best of all? You’ll never have to wait in a line.

Liberté

Liberté is the home of French baker Benoît Castel and a popular destination for locals. Its unique setup allows you to watch as the staff goes about their work creating delightful pastries and other goods, and their croissants are truly something to talk about.

Des Gâteaux et du Pain

The somewhat dreary appearance of Des Gâteaux et du Pain offsets the delightfully uplifting smells and tastes coming through the doors. Claire Damon’s is one of Paris’ most up-and-coming bakers and certainly knows how to whip up the perfect croissant.

Du Pain et des Idées

Not only is this place a great spot to try some of the city’s fluffiest, butter-scented croissants, but it’s also the perfect place to come and admire the architecture. The ceiling is made of painted glass dating back to 1875 and the cast iron bread racks make for a surprisingly cozy atmosphere.
