Weddings / Honeymoons

Many couples are participating in the growing trend of taking a mini-moon immediately after their wedding, instead of planning a long, exotic honeymoon. A mini-moon is a great way to take a break with your spouse following the excitement and stress of wedding planning. The length and destination of your mini-moon greatly depends on your wedding location and timing.

Cities like New York, Chicago and New Orleans offer a variety of activities for any budget or length of stay. You can easily see a lot of each city during a brief visit.

If you live near a port city, or can easily access one, consider taking a short cruise. Cruise lines like Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruises offer itineraries as short as two days.

As with any trip, budget is a consideration. If you prefer to make your mini-moon a quick break before returning to your regular routine and saving a larger trip for later, it might be best to book a one- or two-night stay in a nearby bed and breakfast. By staying local, you’ll save on transportation costs but still get that much-needed break.

A destination wedding is the perfect opportunity to extend the trip into a mini-moon. Spend a few extra nights at your resort as a married couple.
