I was excited to escape the cold winter weather with a quick getaway to Antigua. When I arrived at Blue Waters Resort, I immediately felt at home thanks to the inviting staff. First order of business: Enjoy a rumtini while overlooking the ocean.
My bags were brought to my room while I checked in. I stayed at the property’s Rock Cottage, located at the far end of the resort. Situated on a rocky cliff, my room overlooked a private beach and had stunning sunset views. My room, with all of the standard amenities, had a rustic Caribbean décor. The complimentary minibar featured a nice selection of soft drinks, wine, liquor and local beer. The bathroom boasted a large shower and Elemis products, a brand I enjoy.
For breakfast and lunch each morning, I dined at The Palm. With a buffet-style set-up, The Palm also offers a la carte options. I was impressed by the buffet selections, particularly lunch, which changed daily. Having dinner at The Cove, Blue Waters Resort’s fine-dining restaurant is a must. Take advantage of the resort’s all-inclusive option, making dining and bar hopping a breeze.
I wanted to take advantage of as many as the resort’s amenities as possible. I enjoyed a blissful massage, went for a morning kayak ride, swam in the ocean, sunbathed on the private beach and took a boat excursion to a private island. And there was so much more I couldn’t squeeze in!
Blue Waters Resort is a quick drive from the airport and popular spots in St. John’s. However, with all of the wonderful amenities Blue Waters has to offer, there’s no need to step foot off the resort.
