People use electronic devices to dry their hair and their hands, but when it comes to the body the everyday bath towel has had no real competition until now. Created to provide a sanitary, environmentally-friendly alternative to bath towels, the Body Dryer has been in development for more than two years and a successful IndieGoGo campaign earlier this year is bringing it to market soon.
The primary goal of the Body Dryer is to eliminate the problem of bacteria growing on towels and being reintroduced to the body after repeated uses in the home, gym, public pools or anywhere else people might need to dry off.
The Body Dryer blows warm or cool compressed, ionized air up the body to blow water droplets away comfortably any time of the year. It can dry the body off in less than 30 seconds; its platform can support up to 325 pounds and also functions as a scale. In addition to preventing the use of bacteria-ridden towels, the Body Dryer is expected to help reduce laundry at public pools and gyms and help those with limited mobility thoroughly dry off after bathing.
The Body Dryer can be pre-ordered for $230 and is expected to ship in February 2015.
