Join tens of thousands of like-minded artists and expressionists for the 2017 Burning Man festival Aug. 27–Sept. 4. Erected each year in Black Rock City, Nev., Burning Man is a pop-up art installation complete with campgrounds, diverse exhibits, stages and various projects and performances scattered over the desert.
This year’s art theme, radical ritual, is expected to elicit a reaction to the faith, personal beliefs and ritual processions. The theme encourages artists to express their perspective with temples, shrines and icons scattered across the desert.
Main tickets are available for $425 and vehicle passes are an additional $80, with only two tickets available per person. Tickets allow access to the entire venue’s many theme camps, stages and exhibits.
Event veterans come prepared to participate, engage and immerse themselves in the pop-up art world for the extent of the festival. Expect anything from makeshift vehicles speeding across the desert and a variety of themed destinations, including Aloha camp boasting drinks, shade and a Polynesian-themed paradise or the 747 Experience providing the largest moving art car ever at Burning Man.
