Sometimes you just need to let it all fly free — a concept the French are all too familiar with. That’s probably why the country is home to one of the most popular nudist resorts on Earth, Cap d’Agde.
More of a self-contained village than an actual resort, the area has all the things you’d expect to find back at home. There’s a bank, Laundromat, post office and numerous restaurants, all of which you can jaunt around completely nude. That’s certainly going to make mailing your postcards a little awkward.
Of course, the real draw of Cap d’Agde is the mile-long beach and spas available in the resort. It’s open to families, including children, a little more than most Americans can stomach. However, the dining options are top notch and there are few places in the world where you can relax and get a tan quite like this.
During the high season you can expect to find around 50,000 tourists visiting the village, which might make things a little cramped. Located only a few miles from Montpelier, it’s actually a great opportunity to relax in the buff and then slip on some clothes for a night on the town. It certainly makes for an interesting conversation once you return home.
