The paradisiacal island of Holbox has plenty of accommodation options, but most of them are on the pricey side. At Casa del Viento, you get great accommodations and service for a bargain price. The hotel is well designed, with clean, white interiors and quality fittings, and, in September 2017, a double room was just $40 per night.
The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, providing a real goldmine of information on what to do on the island. There is a delicious breakfast buffet for $10.50 per person, with a healthy selection of fruit, granola and decent coffee.
Situated just 200 meters from the beach, Casa del Viento is well located. It barely seems worth paying significantly more money in order to sleep in one of the beachside hotels when Casa del Viento is such a bargain.
The beds are comfortable, the air conditioning is great and small touches such as quality complimentary toiletries make you feel like you are staying in a luxury hotel. Casa del Viento comes highly recommended, and all of the fellow guests during our stay were equally effusive in their praise.
If you’re heading to Holbox, make sure you reserve a room at Casa del Viento. Anyone traveling in high season, December to March, would be advised to book well in advance.
