Prince Harry and Megan Markle are set to wed May 19 at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. However, you don’t need to travel to England to experience the royal wedding celebrations. The Drake, a Hilton Hotel Chicago offers guests a royal wedding deal leading up to the special day.
For the month of May, the property hosts a fondue reception every Monday night from 6–7 p.m., following by a movie screening of royal films including The Queen and Victoria and Abdul. Rates start at $25 per person. All month long, guests can enjoy a special afternoon tea service, with snacks inspired by favorites of the royal family including finger sandwiches and scones. The hotel also gifts guests a slice of chocolate biscuit cake, the kind served at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding. The service costs $47 per person plus tax and gratuities. The hotel’s Coq D’Or bar and restaurant offers a specialty royal cocktail menu during the month of May including the Queen’s favorite gin and dubonnet; Prince Phillip’s favorite English bitter; and Prince Charles’s favorite martini.
On the big day, the property will host a special luncheon with a screening of the royal wedding. The menu includes a mixed greens salad, king salmon entrée with ratatouille and gnocchi and a soufflé for dessert. VIP priority seating costs $100 or $80 for general assigned seating. A special grand finale cabaret takes place in the evening, with a performance and three-course meal with open bar. Rates start at $120.
