Cape Cod’s Chatham Bars Inn partnered with Lexus to offer the Lexus Ultimate Beach Drive Experience. The luxurious off-road beach experience allows guests access to Cape Cod beaches from behind the wheel of a Lexus GX460. Chatham Bars Inn is the only resort on Cape Cod to secure the necessary permits to drive on to some of the area beaches.

“Since its original opening in 1914, Chatham Bars Inn has always embraced a sense of adventure and the natural beauty of Cape Cod, which we are lucky to call home,” said Gary Thulander, managing director, Chatham Bars Inn. “Through our long-standing partnership with Lexus, we are thrilled to expand our programming with the Lexus Ultimate Beach Drive Experience, which will provide guests with the elevated memorable experiences for which Chatham Bars Inn and Cape Cod are well-known.”
The Lexus Ultimate Beach Drive Experience consists of two different offerings:
- Half-Day Coastal Encounter Beach Package
- Full-Day Sunseeker Beach Package

Both begin with one guest in each party driving a specially outfitted Lexus GX460, with a second support vehicle with staff following behind. During the over-sand-vehicle off-roading experience, guests stop along the way to take in views or relax on the beach. The support team sets up a “beach camp,” complete with shade, beach chairs, blankets, towels, beach games and surfcasting, alongside a picnic basket lunch.
Both packages can accommodate as many as seven guests, with the experience ranging $1,200–3,000.
“The two experiences – Coastal Encounter Beach Package and Sunseeker Beach Package – were developed and will operate with responsibility and environmental protection in mind,” continued Thulander. “As dedicated stewards of Cape Cod’s community and protected environment, Chatham Bars Inn and Lexus have worked closely with local organizations to secure the proper operational permits, ensuring the natural order of Cape Cod’s beaches will not be disrupted.”

United Continues Its Global Expansion
