Comic-Con is designed to promote comics and related art forms, and brings together fans from all over the world.

The San Diego event will take place July 21–24 at the San Diego Convention Center. A full program of events includes guest appearances from celebrated figures such as Jason Aaron, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Sergio Aragonés.

Originally the event related to comic books, but it has now been extended to include many forms of pop culture such as anime, manga and a broader range of science fiction. Comic Con attracts huge amounts of visitors, and regularly fills the 130,000-capacity venue.

Among the attractions are panels, seminars and workshops from big names in the industry, which serve as an inspiration for aspiring artists and offer fans a chance to meet their heroes. Head down to the famous Artist’s Alley to meet famous comic artists and buy some of their drawings.

Whether you are a huge comics fan or more of a curious visitor, there is plenty to do at Comic Con. Head to the official website to buy your entrance badge for specific days. Badges start at $40.

San Diego is situated in southern California and has good flight connections to cities across the United States. The third week in July is a great time to head to town and meet fellow comic fans as well as those responsible for drawing some of the most famous examples of our time.
