Since 1985, Miami Beach has hosted one of the biggest electronic music conferences in the world. The 2017 event will run March 21–24, and include seminars, panel discussions and live performances from some of the biggest names in electronic dance music. There are more than 400 events scheduled, providing DJs, industry figures and fans a chance to meet each other.
To gain access to the official WMC events, you need to get yourself a WMC badge. This will allow you entry into all of the events, although due to high demand there are no guarantees there will be space for every badge holder.
Alongside the official events are hundreds of parties and seminars organized by other promoters. You can buy tickets to these events on an individual basis. At the same time as WMC, the city also plays host to Miami Music Week, while Ultra Music Festival will run March 24–26.
For those that work in the industry, WMC provides an invaluable networking opportunity, while everyone else gets the chance to enjoy some amazing parties with top DJs from around the world.
Miami is easily accessible from major hubs across North America, and also has good connections to Latin America and Europe. Hotel prices rise significantly during WMC so book ahead if you can.
