Tips / Destination

Just a short drive from both Los Angeles and San Diego, Temecula Valley boasts beautiful vineyards, dozens of wineries, golfing, historic downtowns and picturesque accommodations. Here’s what not to miss if you head there this season.

The Taste of Temecula Valley is held this weekend. You can expect a VIP dining and concert experience, with family-friendly culinary activities throughout the weekend, including bites provided by regional restaurants, plus tastings from wineries and breweries. There’s live entertainment throughout the weekend as well, plus a kid zone.

May in the valley is Craft Brew Month, as Temecula has so much more than just the exciting wine scene. The numerous breweries offer specials and events all month-long to cater to beer lovers and their fellow travelers.

If you like to combine a little charity with your travel, sign up for the Reality Rally, May 3–5. The three-day charity event benefits Michelle’s Place Breast Cancer Resource Center, and you can participate in an Amazing Race-style event, Lip Sync Showdown and other contests. You may also spot a few reality celebrities in attendance. If competition isn’t your thing, you’ll still enjoy the celebrity chef showcase, live entertainment and other attractions.

Lastly, foodies won’t want to miss the Battle of the Burgers, May 18, when Old Town’s local restaurants compete to win the public’s vote for best burger.
