Salem, Massachusetts, was the site of the infamous 1692 witch trials, where several locals were sentenced to death for allegedly practicing witchcraft. Today, locations with ties to the trials still stand and attract tourists year-round, with increased interest as Halloween approaches. City Experiences offers an immersive day tour of Salem, visiting locations key to the city’s witchy past.

The Legacy of Witches: Salem Day Tour brings guests from Boston via ferry to Salem, passing scenic spots in Boston Harbor along the way. Depending on the day of your visit, the tour begins with a visit to Salem Witch Museum (Sunday–Thursday) or Real Pirate Museum (Friday–Saturday). The tour also brings visitors to The Witch House, one of the last remaining structures with ties to the trials still standing today. A former home of witch trial judge Jonathan Corwin, the house is said to be haunted by the spirits of those who lost their lives during the trials.
Other key sites visited on the guided tour include Salem Witch Trials Memorial, The Burying Point, Old Town Hall, Bewitched Statue, Ropes Mansion and Gardens (as featured in the film Hocus Pocus), and The First Church in Salem. Guests will have free time for lunch and to explore independently before returning to Boston.
