Tips / Destination

Thunder Over Louisville is often rated the best fireworks show in North America, even better than anything put on during the 4th of July. With more than 700,000 people attending the event each year, great viewing spots can be hard to come by. Check out these places for some great seats.

Thunder at the Bristol

The Bristol Bar & Grille throws one of the most explosive parties of the year during Thunder Over Lousiville. They offer an unlimited buffet of delicious food and drink and great views of the show for less than $200.

Kingfish Restaurant

Kingfish Restaurant is a popular choice among locals during the show. They offer a buffet dining option and various viewing points throughout the restaurant of the fireworks, along with discounts for anyone in town with kids.

Louisville Waterfront Park

Louisville Waterfront Park is a bit crowded during Thunder Over Louisville, but offers great views of the fireworks and aerial shows. It’s right near the edge of downtown Louisville so there’s plenty of fun games and food to be found while you’re waiting for things to begin.

Belle of Louisville

The Belle of Louisville is docked right near one of the largest displays and is prime real estate for the show. You’ll pay an arm and leg for the pleasure and must call ahead to reserve a space in advance, but you’ll certainly remember the party for a long time.
