One of the major changes between summer and fall is the wardrobe. It’s time to put away shorts and sundresses and unpack the sweaters, leggings, scarves and boots. Gone are the days of lounging around in a bathing suit. Autumn is back and it’s bringing layers, jackets and close-toed shoes — it is now leather weather, velvet weather and sweater weather.
One of the best things about the cooler days is being able to repeat clothes and in different combinations — sometimes all you need is that simple black v-neck that you can do a million things with. Sure there are classics like the leather jacket and black blazer, but now there are unlimited options with bold prints, velvet and dramatic coats perfect for fall foliage trips, travels and even a night out.
From statement sleeves to all velvet, fall fashion is back. Unconventional jeans are back and that means DIY denim. Add elegant embroidery, iron-on decals, fringe, raw hems and patchwork. There’s no wrong way to go weird.
Fall fabrics are noticeable heavier, thicker and cozier than summer options, so it’s no surprise velvet is back. The super-soft yet trendy textile is everywhere this season, from dresses to tops, coats and even tracksuits — #tbt to Juicy Couture.
The bomber jackets are taking you from the runways to the streets. The casual jacket can be paired with jeans and a tee or over a dress for a trendier vibe.
Rose quartz is a popular color this season. Go full on in this dusty pink color or include some add-ons like leather pants.
Tie-neck blouses are making a comeback, but blame it on chokers. Be sure to choose a design that doesn’t overwhelm your outfit or take away from your face.
Simple sleeves are out and statement sleeves are in. From dramatic or simple to poofy cuffs or wizard sleeves, you can’t go wrong. This bold statement can be worn solo or under a jacket or sweater.
The shoulder trend is switching it up and evolving. The new look is slouchier, giving a sneak peek of your shoulder, without revealing too much — perfect for cooler weather.
