The middle seat on an airplane is universally disliked, and a Los Angeles hotel is trying to make up for it.
The Shore Hotel offers passengers who fly in the middle seat to Los Angeles International Airport a free room upgrade for an ocean-view room.
The hotel is located in Santa Monica. General Manager Gerry Peck said the hotel has a beachfront location that offers a soft landing spot for jetlagged passengers who dealt with the unfortunate circumstances surrounding confinement on a long flight in the dreaded middle seat.
After all, the middle seat offers no view, so the hotel aims to make up for that. Guests who can show proof of a middle seat will receive a room category upgrade to an ocean-view room between now and May 26, subject to availability.
Guests must have already booked a room on the property and must have flown the middle seat in economy class.
