How to Hack Your Way Through the Airport

Tips / Travel

Airports can be havens of stress, uncertainty and noise, especially when babies are traveling. There are easier and faster ways to make it through the lines upon lines so that you´ll end up on the other side calm, cool and ready for your journey in the air.

Large volumes of liquid are not allowed in carry-on baggage, but getting around this obstacle is quite easy. Bring your own water bottle and empty it (or chug it) before going through security. You may not be allowed to carry on liquids, but there is no rule against carrying on empty bottles. Once through security, fill up the bottle with water to stay hydrated throughout your dry-air flight.

As you approach security and scour the lines for the fastest option, consider this fact: Studies show that because most travelers are right-handed, they tend to pick the right-sided security lines. No matter whether the line appears longer or not, your best bet is to choose the lanes toward the left, which tend to move faster than the lines to the right.

It may sound like a silly waste of time, but researching the airport before you travel can help you get around more easily and efficiently. For example, does the airport have free WiFi? If so, is there a time limit for use? How many terminals exist, and how far are the gates from the security line? Knowledge of these simple facts can make your journey through the airport a breeze.
