Let’s face it, sometimes you need to check a bag while traveling. However, you don’t want to be left without something important if your luggage is lost or you just can’t get to it during a long flight. Follow our tips for packing your carry-on like a pro.
A Change of Clothes
In case something happens to your checked luggage, make sure you have at least one set of extra clothes in your carry-on. Throw in something warm to wear in case the plane is cold.
Important Documents
Whether it’s an international or domestic trip, keep all of your important travel documents close at hand so you aren’t stuck without them.
Extra Medication
If you have medication you take regularly, pack an extra few days’ worth in your carry-on bag. You’ll have enough medicine to get you through in case your bag is lost or your flight is canceled or delayed.
Basic Toiletries
Bring any toiletries you use daily with you. Pack TSA-approved travel-sized items including toothpaste, contact solution and deodorant.
Snacks
Pack a few protein bars, trail mix, dried fruit or other snacks to hold you over in case of any travel delays.
Valuables
While you should avoid bringing anything irreplaceable on your trip, keep anything valuable with you on your person or in your carry-on bag.
Entertainment
In the chance of a delay on board or before your flight, make sure you have something to entertain you. If that includes a tablet or similar device, also keep your charger in your bag.
