The Babbel website and mobile app is a useful tool for beginners learning a new language or those brushing up on basic skills.
The lessons are broken down into small, manageable groups divided between vocabulary and grammar. The lessons on the app naturally evolve as the user begins to understand and improve.
The lessons are fun and engaging using pictures, conversational vocabulary tests and spelling. Babbel tests the brain from all angles, which in the long run makes for a deeper understanding and long-lasting language skills.
Once the user feels confident in a lesson and moves on from a few vocabulary words, they learn how to spell them, say them and use them in a conversation. Once the words are mastered on all of those fronts, the user can move on to more complicated sentence structure.
Babbel also sets up daily challenges for users in addition to their lessons, which can be as long or short as they have time for. While taking a lesson with a microphone, Babbel can hear the users pronunciation and accent and critique like a teacher one on one.
Try the free lessons on the website before deciding on the full program, priced at $13 a month; $26.85 for three months; $44.70 for six months; or $83.40 for a year.
