Beauty has entered a new digital era. One of the newest apps, Makeup Genius by L’Oréal Paris uses your smartphone’s front-facing camera to let you try on eye shadows, eyeliners, lipsticks, lip glosses and blushes in real time (as opposed to on a photo of yourself). The app is currently available for iOS.
The app instantly identifies your skin tone and feature, and then virtually applies the makeup you choose to your face. The virtual magic mirror also takes application one step further by showing products on your face as you move. You’ll get to see your chosen lipstick as you smile, your eye shadow as you blink,or your blush when you’re looking up.
The app contains every L’Oreal cosmetic product available, excluding foundations, bronzers and mascaras. The app also offers a library of looks from makeup designers to try.
Finally, consumers won’t get stuck with products they tried once and tossed into a makeup bag. For the buyers who head to the department or beauty store, trying on different products can be tedious and irritating. Imagine using testers for a lip gloss, wiping away with alcohol, starting over and then repeating the same process for every product. The futuristic app takes the guess work out of trying makeup and solves the age-old crisis of matching the right colors for your complexion.
My mom and I recently dined at Mazi, a Greek restaurant in West Reading, Pennsylvania. We were in town for a family event and decided to take advantage of the lovely early fall evening by enjoying dinner outside. The restaurant is popular, so we called right when they opened to make a last-minute reservation. Thankfully, they had availability for outdoor seating.
With more than 6,000 islands total, with 227 inhabited, in Greece, the selection is overwhelming. Which one is perfect for your next vacation?

Adults who came of age in the 1990s will remember fondly the iconic Planet Hollywood sign. And now, that sign can be seen at The Neon Museum in Las Vegas — the museum recently acquired the restaurant sign that originally rotated upon an iconic column pedestal in front of Caesars Palace Forum Shops and Colosseum. Planet Hollywood International/Earl Enterprises donated the sign, currently being assessed for conservation and display plans.
Prepare your taste buds for the trip of a lifetime in Greece. About 100 Greek products — from wines, cheese and fruits to honey and oils — earned a Protected Designation of Origin from the European Union, and the country’s most beloved dishes include Greek Choriatiki salad, tzatziki, souvlaki and moussaka, with its layers of eggplant, potato, minced meat and bechamel. And those are only a few of the many highlights.
