Trailborn, a new hospitality brand rooted and inspired by the great American outdoors, announced its newest hotel opening. Set within the Blue Ridge Mountains, Trailborn Highlands opens this July and features 63 guestrooms.
Designed in collaboration with LOVEISENOUGH, the property will also include a destination restaurant and bar (The Highlands Supper Club) serving Southern fare in a historic log cabin, a Nordic Spa with a sauna and cold plunge showers, a spacious lobby lounge with a breakfast nook and central fireplace, and a curated on-site retail market.

Guestrooms are adorned with quilted tapestries of the Blue Ridge Mountains through a collaboration with Haptic Labs, and in-room amenities include Parachute robes, Grown Alchemist bath products, portable Trailborn coolers, a curated minibar with cold beverages and dry goods, Tivoli Bluetooth radios, smart TVs, high-speed WiFi, and more. Some guestrooms will also include private patios or balconies and gas fireplaces.
The Highlands Supper Club is one of the hotel’s jewels, located in a historic log cabin adjacent to the hotel. Built in 1924, this restaurant brings local ingredients and rich, smoky flavors to life with dishes like grilled North Carolina oysters and Webb’s Chicken Two-Ways: Oven Roasted or Buttermilk Fried. A spirit-forward cocktail menu, unpretentious wines and local beers complement the food.

Trailborn Highlands will be surrounded by 4.5 acres of lush woods, allowing guests to enjoy the great outdoors. Beyond the interior spaces, outside the hotel boasts a sprawling deck and backyard with picnic tables and fire pits, as well as a lily pond and flower gardens. Guests are invited to take part in a variety of outdoor excursions like guided hikes, fly fishing, mushroom foraging and more, all in collaboration with local experts.
Trailborn Highlands marks the brand’s second location and third hotel opening, following Trailborn Rocky Mountains and Trailborn Rocky Mountains Outpost in Estes Park, Colorado. Later this year, the brand is set to open a property in the Grand Canyon; Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina; and Mendocino, California.
