New Study Shows Cruisers Aren’t Concerned About COVID-19

 The COVID-19 pandemic certainly wasn’t kind to the cruise industry, but it seems like things are getting back to “normal,” with a new survey by squaremouth.com showing more than 60 percent of cruisers now aren’t concerned about COVID-19, compared to the more than 60 percent of cruisers worried about catching the virus according to a similar study conducted earlier this year.

Now, the most recent survey found cruisers are focusing their worries on other issues, such as airline delays and not being able to make their cruise because of them. These worries were attributed to both inclement weather events and staffing shortages.

One aspect that might be credited to cruisers’ shift in focus and greater confidence in not catching COVID-19 while cruising? Squaremouth points to the major cruise lines still requiring cruisers to submit negative COVID-19 tests ahead of their cruises, as well as varying rules regarding vaccination status, including Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Disney and Celebrity.
