Last month Yoga on the Fly, an airport yoga company, opened its first studio at Denver International Airport. The studio offers five private rooms and a boutique with yoga clothing and accessories. Travelers can partake in classes ranging eight–20 minutes, including yoga, meditation and breathing work.
Classes are taught via instructional iPad videos intended to combat travel-related issues such as poor circulation, muscle aches and anxiety. The studio is open 7 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday through Friday, and 7 a.m.–7 p.m. on Saturday. Sessions cost $15–60 depending on the class. The company plans to roll out additional studios at other airports next year.
While the Denver studio is the first for Yoga on the Fly, several airports offer yoga spaces for weary guests. San Francisco International Airport has two yoga rooms, one in Terminal 2 and one in Terminal 3, and both open 24 hours. Dallas/Fort Worth’s (DFW) Yoga Studios provide free mats and play instructional videos on loop for anyone who wants to stop in. The yoga room at Chicago O’Hare, in Terminal 3, offers a peaceful escape from the chaos of the airport with bamboo flooring, peaceful music and mats on loan.
