Tips / Travel

Whether you’re hopping on a plane, train or automobile, packing for a weekend getaway can be a pain. To avoid over- or under-packing, follow our tips for must-have items and those to leave at home.

Travel-Friendly Snacks

If you’re away for one or two nights, throw a few travel-friendly snacks in your bag. A granola bar, dried fruit or mixed nuts will help appease hunger while you’re en route.

Device Chargers

Don’t assume your device will hold a charge while you’re traveling. Make sure you have the correct chargers for the devices you intend to use on your trip.

Extra Socks/Underwear

Packing a few extra pairs of socks and underwear are worth using up precious luggage space.

Transition Pieces

Pick one or two dresses, tops or pants that can be paired with other items to create a new look. This way you can easily transition a look from day to night without packing an entirely new outfit.

Comfortable/Versatile Shoes

Regardless of the destination, make sure you pack comfortable shoes that can be worn for a variety of occasions. Don’t pack a pair of heels if your feet will hurt after wearing the shoes even once.

Valuables

Leave any items of monetary or sentimental value at home. There is no need to bring an heirloom jewelry piece or an expensive accessory when you could opt for a cheaper piece instead.
