Founded in 1912, the historic Beverly Hills Hotel might be the most famous hotel in the world. Its original patrons decided to purchase land around the hotel for homes. This population grew and, in 1914, Beverly Hills, Calif., incorporated as an independent city.
The hotel has become well known for its restaurant, The Polo Lounge. Maybe you heard Drake rap about it in the song “Stay Schemin’.”A previous owner of the hotel named it after a group of polo players who celebrated victories in the restaurant. The Polo Lounge’s prestige grew as the likes of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack became regulars.
If you’re looking for fine cuisine at a luxurious restaurant, The Polo Lounge exceeds expectations. The restaurant has an elegant, classy atmosphere and superb steak and seafood dishes. A favorite of many stars in LA, you never know who could be sitting at the table next to you.
Although it’s open daily for breakfast through dinner, try the afternoon tea or Sunday brunch for a different experience. Today The Polo Lounge continues to be frequented by celebrities and businessmen. Therefore, book a reservation in advance.
