Long gone are the days where cyclists could not find a convenient place to put their helmets or a necessary light in the dark. LockSit is a new piece of cycling equipment functioning as both a bike helmet and light.
The product’s unique dual function allows users to simply lock their helmet snugly into their handlebars, removing the need to lug it around with them, and is also a permanently secured front light, always giving users a light when they need it the most.
“The idea for Locksit was born after I saw a father riding with a helmet followed by his son without one. Following this, I started to notice how common a sight this actually was,” said Martin St-Gallay, inventor, founder and managing director, Locksit. “The use of cycling helmets is a much debated topic, and yet what remains clear throughout any discussion is the significant benefit they have on a cyclist’s safety.”
Martin continues, “As a parent of three, I know that it’s imperative that children wear helmets. Only 18 percent of kids under 15 wear one, and this demographic is actually at the greatest risk. If we can encourage helmet use among children by eradicating the excuse they haven’t got to carry it or somewhere to put it, then we will have achieved a key corporate goal.”
