Finding the right travel companion is no easy task — you need someone who can put up with your eccentric behavior on a regular basis, can provide easy conversation and will still want to talk to you afterwards no matter what. So who better to travel with than your mom? She’s already put up with you since birth, so she knows how to handle your annoying habits.
That’s just one reason why you should travel with her.
She’s Overprotective
Moms are great at making sure you never forget anything. She’ll double-check your directions on every trip, suss out the shady hotels in an instant and remind you to pack enough underwear before you leave — heck, she’ll probably just pack your bags for you.
She Cooks
Let’s be honest, everyone craves a taste of home at some point while traveling. Having your mom there with you means she can whip up a meatloaf whenever you’re feeling homesick. She might not be thrilled about it, but if you pout enough she’ll make it happen.
She’s Wiser
Your mom will keep you from making stupid decisions, like drunkenly hooking up with a random guy in a German nightclub or eating street food in Cambodia. She knows what’s important in life and what you’ll only end up regretting, so it’ll be easy to follow her lead and let her plan your trip.
You Kind of Owe Her
The woman raised you from birth and you’re still alive, so if she wants to take a simple trip overseas with you there’s no way you can say no. Besides, it’ll only help to strengthen your bond and you’ll be able to look back on it and laugh when you both have gray hair.
