Tips / Travel

Every day seems to bring new add-on fees for major airlines that are cutting back on free services in order offer lower airfare. However, some airlines have hidden bonuses if travelers just ask. Below are a few airlines’ secret promotions that the everyday traveler may not know about.

JetBlue

Most airlines forbid passengers from consuming alcohol they purchased in the airport, such as duty-free airplane bottles. But JetBlue lets its passengers consume pre-purchased alcohol, which saves the flyer money on in-flight cocktails.

Air China

Air China travelers who face a long layover in one of four Chinese airports are eligible for free overnight hotel stays, shuttle bus service to and from the airport and a free breakfast. To qualify for the deal, travelers must have a layover of at least 24 hours.

Air Malta

Flyers on select Air Malta flights can relax tired muscles with an in-flight massage as part of the airline’s Sky Spa program.

Qatar Airways

This Middle Eastern airline knows how to treat its passengers: For flights of at least six hours in length, Qatar Airways passengers receive two full meals and free Champagne, no matter which section you’re sitting in.
