Belgium is home to some of the best chocolate in the world. Whether you’re a verified chocoholic or just an avid travel foodie, these are the places you won’t want to miss.
Choco-Story Brussels is the chocolate museum of Brussels, receiving more than 75,000 visitors each year. The attractions include historic exhibits, chocolate-making demonstrations and tastings. Both guided tours and self-guided tours are available.
If you’re already visiting the Royal Palace of Brussels, stop in nearby Mary, an almost century-old chocolate shop founded by Mary Delluc, the preferred chocolatier of the royal family on multiple occasions. The favorite? The pralines, which come in a variety of flavors.
Also close is Lauren Gerbaud, a newer, albeit more nontraditional chocolatier in the city. Only the finest, purest ingredients are used to create one-of-a-kind, inspired chocolates. If you’re lucky, you’ll show up in time for a workshop and tasting.
Concept Chocolate offers a variety of workshops and tastings. Make the most of both Belgian culinary treats and sign up for the dual chocolate and beer tasting.
If you prefer a tour operator to arrange your experience of Brussels’ best chocolate spots for you, try Brussels Chocolate Tours. Tours operate every day from 2–4:30 p.m.
