Tips / Travel

You’re searching for flights for your next jaunt across the world and some of the cheapest flights have layovers of eight or more hours at your connecting destination. Never fear, as some airports were designed to welcome travelers just like you. When booking cheaper travel and facing long layovers, try to get stuck at the following airports.

London Heathrow

This busy hub is mainly geared toward business travelers as it offers ironing and pressing services for suits. Leisure travelers can pass the time in the 11,000-square-foot Harrod’s department store, a sculpture and art gallery and more than 52 shops and 105 restaurants, some that even require an advanced reservation. Keep an eye on the clock because with everything to do at Heathrow, you may miss your flight.

Amsterdam Schipol Airport

Just a few miles outside of the city center, Schipol Airport is home to a plethora of ways to relax between flights. Take a walk through the free art gallery, relax with a book in the library, freshen up at the spa and showers or completely unplug in the Silence Center where electronic devices are prohibited.

Incheon International Airport, South Korea

With two cinemas, an ice-skating rink, an 18-hole miniature golf course and seven luxurious indoor gardens, options for hours of entertainment are endless. Refresh yourself between flights with a massage and a free shower.

Changi International Airport, Singapore

Unleash your inner child during your layover with a butterfly garden, a 40-foot slide, free movie theaters and a rooftop pool. Children old and young will love the game zone featuring XBox 360 and PlayStation games, as well as intricate sculptures that decorate the interior of the airport.
