Tips / Travel

Maintaining a decent-looking hairdo while on the road or in the air can be a challenging task, especially with limited luggage space for hair tools and liquid requirements preventing your favorite products from traveling with you. Rather than rushing out to purchase fancy, mini hair tools to fit in your carry-on, use the following everyday products to maximize your styling options when you’re away from home.

Hair ties

This is an obvious addition to your make-up/haircare kit. Varying sizes can be useful depending on how you feel like styling your hair on any given day. Bring along plenty of back-up hair ties in the case of the inevitable snap.

Bobby pins or small clips

For days when taming those fly-aways is out of the question and next to impossible, rely on a few pins to hold back your hair and keep your face fresh. The versatility of these pins can mean a new hairstyle every day.

Hair brush

Every hairstyle and length requires a different brush. Instead of holding out hope and desperately searching for one at a local drug store (if there even are drug stores at your destination), it’s best to bring your own if your hair can be a bit fickle.

Lotion

This item might seem a bit odd and out of place, but lotion works wonders as a replacement frizz tamer and smoothing agent. In addition to moisturizing your skin, use it in high-humidity climates to relax your waves or slick back your part.
