Trends / Unique Itineraries & Tours

Far from the amateurish back garden efforts of childhood, the world’s longest slip and slide is a professional operation that has beaten world records and been featured on television.

Slip and slides evoke plenty of memories, but one team decided to build the biggest one the world has ever seen. The 1,975- foot beast was originally built in New Zealand by Xtreme Waterpark host Jimi Hunt before being shipped to the United States

It is currently part of Action Park in Vernon, New Jersey, an attraction that houses more than over 30 different rides, slides and other adrenaline-inducing activities. One of the main draws is the slip and slide, which was ratified as the longest in the world by the Guinness World Records in July.

Most slip and slides are limited by the length of your backyard, but Hunt and his team have built one that takes more than one over a minute to ride from end to end. Slip and slides have an enduring popularity with people of all ages and Action Park allows visitors to indulge their appetite for hurtling down a slippery slope.

The park shot to notoriety following a string of deaths and injuries that forced it to close for a time, although it is now reopen with a new commitment to safety. Get down to Action Park to ride it for yourself, and have a go on fellow record-breaker “ZeroG,”, the only double-looping drop box waterslide in the world.

The pleasure of sliding along on your belly never gets old, although you might want to wait until the worst of the New Jersey winter is over before planning a trip to the park.
