Trends / Unique Itineraries & Tours

Prospect Park is 526 acres of lush landscape that you kind of aren’t expecting. When you think of New York and parks, Central Park is clearly the frontrunner. Just to give you a sense of scale, that park clocks in at more than 800 acres. The landscape architects Olmsted and Vaux designed these parks and, because of this, the same intricate features exist in both. These parks are so lush and all encompassing it is easy to get lost and feel like you are not in an urban metropolis at all. Since you find yourself in one of the most quintessential cities in the United States, you may not expect to venture out into the boroughs when visiting Manhattan.

But, if you do, Brooklyn is a pleasant diversion and Prospect Park offers a lot of options (https://www.prospectpark.org/visit-the-park/places-to-go/). The park is not only a safe haven for football games and Frisbee, but it also links together some of the most important landmarks of Brooklyn. One walk through Prospect Park gains you access to the northernmost entrance, the Grand Army Plaza, a war memorial to soldiers and sailors completed in 1892. Move on to the Prospect Park Zoo, and then take a ride on a classic carousel built in 1912. End your trip at the Greenmarket for a healthy snack.

There is more than enough to do on a lazy Saturday!

No, it’s not Monterey Bay. We’re talking Morro Bay, California, located about a 2.5-hour drive to the south, about halfway between San Jose and Los Angeles. A quieter destination, Morro Bay offers plenty for the outdoor adventurer to enjoy.
