Were you as excited for the third season of Bridgerton as the rest of the world? Live like you’re the beauty of the ton at The Lanesborough, a luxury London hotel that just launched a new afternoon tea experience in partnership with Netflix and Shondaland.
The limited-edition tea pays homage to the Regency era, with guests sipping and dining within the hotel’s richly decorated dining room. The Lanesborough’s head pastry chef, Pierre Morvan-Benezet, crafted a menu paying tribute to the key families in the third season of the hit series.
The Bridgerton Afternoon Tea at The Lanesborough’s finger sandwiches and pastry tartlets include truffled egg mayonnaise on white bread; poached chicken, chive and sour cream corn-fed chicken on granary bread; Lambton and Jackson smoked salmon and horseradish cream served on brown bread; organix cucumber garlic herb cream on white bread; and a cream cheese and kale tartlet. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are also available.
The Lanesborough’s tasty scones, cream and jam, as well as the Morvan-Benezet curated cake and sweet treat concepts complement the savory plates. The Social Butterfly is dedicated to none other than Penelope Featherington and is comprised of handcrafted, jeweled pistachio and mandarin mousse in a green glaze with a biscuit base and gold leaf sprinkles.
Colin’s Travels is a dark chocolate sponge with caramel, dark chocolate mousse and dark chocolate ganache encased in a travel trunk and chocolate decoration. The Book of Eloise features a cheesecake vanilla mousse with blueberry insert, whipped vanilla Chantilly and blueberry gel finished in white chocolate.
The Lady Whistledown, the main source for all the ton’s gossip, is an elegant grapefruit and raspberry mousse within whipped Chantilly with white chocolate décor and a grapefruit glaze.
The afternoon tea also offers a signature cocktail, Friends to Lovers, to accompany the experience. This concoction is comprised of 1800 coconut tequila, morish cherries, a hint of cranberry juice, and honey and fresh lime juice. There is also a non-alcoholic version, The Blooming Wallflower, available.
