We must take care of the world so it can be preserved for the next generation. Sustainable travel is travel in a way that lessens the negative effect of travel while showing people how to help the environment. Sustainable travel also affects the native animals in the area by giving them a better way to live.
The biggest change to make is to use less plastic. Always ask for an alternative or make sure to recycle the plastic. This can help save animals, help the oceans stay clear and help areas keep clean. It’s no secret plastic has been a problem for awhile, and it’s going to take a lot of work to get rid of it. Saying no to plastic is a great first step.
Leave a smaller carbon footprint by using planes less. Planes use tons of fossil fuels damaging to the world. By putting money toward trains, buses and carpooling, airline companies will realize they need to find alternative resources. In many countries, traveling by train is cheaper and faster than taking planes.
When traveling, it is common to see poor people and it is a natural reaction to want to help by giving whatever you can. However, this isn’t always for the best. Giving things randomly creates tension among the people. To truly help, seek out organizations that give back to communities and donate to them instead. The organizations will know how best to use the money to help the community.
