Head to Mt. Washington, one of Pittsburgh’s most-visited neighborhoods, for a perfect view of the city below. Restaurant Row takes full advantage of the setting, pairing high-end dining and service with spectacular scenery.
With an intimate dining room and an elegant, but modern, atmosphere, Altius is an AAA Four Diamond restaurant, which quickly gained traction on the Pittsburgh dining scene after its opening. The service is superb, but the menu will truly blow you away, with lobster ravioli, Australian lamb rack and squid ink risotto, not to mention an equally nice cocktail menu.
A classic, Five-Star Diamond restaurant, Le Mont has a rotating seasonal menu. You can expect a wide array of steaks and seafood, but also a top-notch wine list, as the restaurant recently won a Best of Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator. Le Mont is also popular for celebrations, including large events.
With humongous windows surrounding the dining room, this restaurant is sure to impress. Of course, seafood is the star here, with dinner options like rock shrimp risotto, crab cakes, Chilean sea bass chimichurri, redfish Thai curry, swordfish parmesan and more. Save room for dessert! With treats like the angel food grilled cheese sandwich (caramelized cake with a cream cheese filling, berry compote and ice cream), you won’t want to miss out.
For Italian fare, go to Bella Vista, a family-owned restaurant with a nondescript exterior and an interior that screams vintage Italian. From the antipasti to the veal and all the pasta you could want, everything is cooked made-to-order. Finish up with an espresso or cappuccino.
The Grandview Saloon & Coal Hill Steakhouse
If you’re booking a spot at this restaurant, reserve seating on the upper deck for outdoor dining high above the city. The menu offers a little bit of everything, from burgers and sandwiches, to seafood and steak, in the event you’re opting for something on the lighter side.
