Start your morning at Federal Cafe for breakfast. The egg menu is great, especially the poached eggs with avocado, but you are welcome to try whatever you desire and should cost you no more than $12.
The next stop is Cathedral of Girona, a Game of Thrones filming location for the show. Like the Rocky Steps, there are quite a lot to climb to get to the top. The other side of the building shows off the big beautiful ornate doors to the cathedral. You can go inside and explore the church and columns of Santa Maria Cathedral. ($8)
Continue to explore the area as you’re in the Jewish Quarter. It is a section of the city intact since the Middle Ages.
Head back to Casa Marieta, located in Independence Plaza. Order your choice meal, but keep in mind the grilled chicken is heavenly. Order your drink and dessert and enjoy lunch. You should be able to get a decent meal for $20 or less at this location.
Jardins de la Francesca has a scenic and relaxing vibe, so this can be your water break. Continue on to the Roman Wall of Girona. You will get an almost birds-eye view of the city below. Towers are visible on the wall and it is a great spot for photos.
The next stop is the Eiffel Bridge that runs across the Onyar River. Notice the colorful buildings as you pass. Walk about the city and observe the people and graffiti in the city until you are ready for dinner.
La Tomaquet is your dinner location. This restaurant and bar has a homey feel and great food. Enjoy the Catalan cuisine by ordering barbecued sausage with fries and your drink of choice. Be sure to get the Catalan cream to complete your Catalan cuisine experience.
