Hoboken, N. J., a prospering city, is located directly across the river from lower Manhattan. History buff or not, you have plenty of historical sites to see. The Hoboken Historical Museum has plenty of stories and exhibits for only $4. From Frank Sinatra to an Ellis Island experience or one year after Hurricane Sandy, pick up a map and creative a self-guided walking tour.
No trip to Hoboken is complete without a visit to Carlo’s Bakery. If you have ever watched Cake Boss on TLC you don’t want to miss out on the fun. Pick up something sweet, from cannoli, cupcakes, cookies and cakes.. Prices range from $6 for two cupcakes to $59 for an assortment of gourmet cupcakes, lobster tails and cannoli.
