Under $100 / North America

St. Louis is a city on the comeback. If you are in the area, make a point to stop by the city to enjoy everything it has to offer. Wake up to a seriously sweet donut at Vincent Van Doughnut. There are many options to choose from, but try the chocolate with coffee or the blueberry cheesecake and take one for the road. These are made from scratch. You will need an hour to recover from the sugar rush ($10).

Head over to the Gateway Arch for an early visit. No visit to St. Louis is complete without a trip on the tramway to the top of the arch ($13). The price of general admission will also get you into the arch facility to view a documentary.

There are many museums to choose from, but if you must pick one, you may want to check out the City Museum. This structure is great for kids and adults and is made from repurposed architectural material. It is described as part playground, funhouse and surrealistic pavilion. Get the rooftop access because it is worth it ($21).

Grab dinner at Pappy’s Smokehouse  for some classic Memphis BBQ. The pulled pork and beef brisket are always the way to go ($25). Finish the night off with a cocktail at Planter’s House. The cocktails are circus-themed and worth every pun ($12).
