The new United Airlines winter menu is now available, providing updated items on the Economy Choice menu, including a 100-percent cage-free egg breakfast sandwich, the first available on any U.S. carrier. The winter menu also takes into consideration the feedback of passengers, and accordingly provides a new take on one of the menu’s most popular items — a smoked Gouda cheeseburger.

In-flight tests and passenger feedback also showed the top three most popular snack items on the menu were chocolate, meat protein items and potato chips. Therefore, barkTHINS, Duke’s Shorty Sausages and Kettle Chips are added to the menu. Additionally, an item previously only available in first class, the Southwestern-style omelet, is now on the economy menu.

“We are excited to offer great options like barkTHINS for that chocolate fix, gourmet cheeseburgers for a little indulgence or a healthy cage-free breakfast sandwich to start the day off right,” said Kate Gebo, chief customer officer, United. “Being able to offer several new food options, based on feedback from our customers and employees, means we can meet the varied needs of our customers when they are traveling with us.”

The new menu items are available for purchase on flights within the United States with a scheduled flight time of more than 3.5 hours, and on all international flights from the United States to Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. New snack items are available on all flights more than 1.5 hours within North America, and on flights to the Caribbean, select Latin American destinations, Singapore and Australia.

A new drink option is also available for the winter, Sam Adams Winter Lager.
