Tips / Travel

Planning to book a cruise this summer? You may want to carefully pick your cruise destination if you want to pay the lowest price possible.

A new study from booking platform Cruisebound noted the best deals on cruising for the year could be booked throughout May and June, with top destinations including Bermuda and the Bahamas. More specifically, the lowest prices and best deals include cruises departing from Manhattan, with seven-night Bahamas sailings.

Due to high traveler demand, Cruisebound found other Caribbean cruises were priced the highest, so looking for a Bahamas or Bermuda cruise specifically — or just a cruise outside the Caribbean altogether — yielded the best prices. For certain weeks, Alaska cruises offered some of the best deals as well. Top deals came from cruise lines such as Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Holland America and MSC Cruises, with interior cabin pricing starting as low as $300 for seven-night cruises.

Overall, beyond sailing to the Bahamas or Bermuda this summer, there are a few general ways Cruisebound suggests travelers can save on cruise fares. The brand recommends booking as early as possible, taking advantage of residency deals as available and avoiding pricey drink packages (if you have the option to bring your own drinks aboard the ship).
