Monaco is a small, independent city-state with four main districts: Codamine, port quarter; Monaco-Ville, the old-city; Fontvieille; and Monte-Carlo. Gorgeous palaces and churches are scattered all over the small city of Monte-Carlo, some dating back to the 13^th century. The architecture of the city is picturesque with small town square streets leading to large, bright, European, Byzantine buildings.

The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the most prestigious and glamorous events of the year where the royal family will watch the 78-lap street circuit race cut through tunnels, steep elevations and sharp bends. The rich and famous come from all over the world to watch professional drivers take to the racetrack from the harbor.

The Monte-Carlo Opera, Casino Square and Aquarium are among some of the most popular places to see while in Monaco. The Casino Square offers never-ending nightlife with gambling, drinks, music and late-night fun for tourists, locals and the incredibly wealthy. Monte-Carlo can be an expensive visit, so tourists should be sure to stay just outside of the city and take daytrips.
