Who doesn’t want to be proposed to in a beautiful place? Lots of people apparently have the same idea and, according to wedding website Hitched, which analyzed 10,000 proposal hashtags on Instagram, these are the most popular places to stage a marriage proposal.
Disneyland Paris took the top spot, with one in 500 proposals taking place there. There was a similar trend at Disney’s Magic Kingdom in Florida, which saw a slightly smaller 1 in 555 proposals.
A dark horse candidate, Minnesota’s Centennial Lakes came in third place, with one in 625 proposals. The Eiffel Tower, less surprisingly, saw 1 in 679 proposals, ranking it the fourth-most popular spot.
The Hollywood Sign in Los Angeles came in fifth, thanks perhaps to the film La La Land. New York had two spots on the list: Central Park and the Brooklyn Bridge. One in 1,111 couples got engaged at these locations, both heavily featured on Sex in the City.
Next was Niagara Falls, which saw 1 in 1,250 proposals. Walt Disney’s Epcot Park was eight with 1 in 1,428 proposals, thanks in part to its nightly fireworks display. It was followed by Big Bear Lake in California, which was the location for one in 1,666 proposals.
Finally, 1 in 2,000 people popped the question in Bondi Beach, Sydney.
